Anne Smith is the chief geologist and Managing Director of APS Geo Services
Ltd and brings over 15 years of experience to the company. A Fellow of
the Geological Society (www.geolsoc.org.uk)
since 1992, Anne has been associated with large companies at a senior
managerial and technical level for many years and brings an unparalleled
diversity of first hand experience to the company.
Anne has worked in the majority of Scotland's active quarries covering all
parts of Scotland from the borders to the far North. In addition Anne has
also worked in a number of active quarries in the North of England.
Anne therefore has significant
experience of the full range of aggregates extraction covering all
of the commonly and also the less commonly found hard rock types and
sand and gravel deposits. Anne has particular experience of producing
comprehensive and innovative Quarry Development schemes using the
latest computer design packages.
Anne is an active committee member of the Scottish Branch of the Institute of Quarrying,
(www.quarrying.org)
Anne also is a member of the Scottish Stone Liaison Group, (www.sslg.co.uk)
a body whose aim is to enhance the availability, promote utilisation and
advance knowledge and skills in design, specification and use of indigenous
Scottish stone in existing and new build projects. |
